The National Federation of the Blind often captures stories of blind people at events and activities to help advance the lives of blind people. These stories captured via video or audio recordings or text submissions may be used in our communications and marketing efforts for educational and promotional purposes.

I grant permission to the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) and its state affiliates to use my submitted story, voice, name, and/or image or likeness in materials produced for educational and promotional purposes to advance the mission of the NFB, including use in: print materials, websites, social media, and news media. Materials will be used in a respectful manner consistent with the mission of the NFB. I understand I will not receive compensation for the use of these materials.

I may revoke this consent at any time by submitting a written request to the NFB. Revocation applies only to future use and does not require removal, recall, or alteration of materials already produced, distributed, or in use at the time of the request. To revoke consent for future use, submit a written request with your name, the event name/date (if known), and a brief description of your story submission to story@nfb.org.

If the participant is under eighteen during this story submission, a parent/legal guardian must complete an acknowledgment to grant permission for the minor’s story, voice, name, and/or image or likeness to be used as described above. Please ask a staff member to provide you this acknowledgement.
